Can you eat veggie burgers? If so 'Beyond Meat' makes patties, bacon, eggs, chicken & pork substitutes now.
The pork is new and in limited supply but if you can eat the others try them. Ask your doctor first though just in case.

Shooter was able to eat beyond meat, but the dietician said recently that supposedly beyond meat does have meat protein, which is the bad boy in meat and until they clarified that to not eat it.

Without a long and boring explanation, meat proteins effect how the body processes sugar and fat, which is why the Ornish diet is NO MEAT.

Beans are a good substitute, but a lot of spices are required.

Also jack fruit is kind of like Tofu (picks up the flavor of whatever its in) but more edible. Jack fruit and barbecue sauce makes a tasty BBQ pork substitute.

 

Well, "properly prepared", when one is talking about tofu is more of a hope than an achievable goal.

Tofu, like jack fruit (google it) is pretty much tasteless, but the good news is tofu and jack fruit will easily pick up whatever flavors its near.

Anyway, the good news is, most recipes can easily tolerate substitutes for the tofu, and enough spices makes almost any of it tolerable.

And knowing shooter is fixing a lifetime of sloth and debauchery makes it palatable as well.
